Kante Makes Surprise Entry In France's EURO 2024 Squad

The 33-year-old former Chelsea midfielder, who currently plays for Al Ittihad in Saudi Arabia, last featured for France in June 2022.

Kante missed the 2022 World Cup in Qatar due to injury but helped France to glory at the Mundiale four years prior in Russia.

"He has played a full season, albeit not in a European league, as he is in Saudi Arabia," France manager Didier Deschamps said on French TV channel TF1.

"He's back to full fitness. With his experience, I'm convinced that the French team will be stronger with N'Golo Kante."

France will play Netherlands, Poland and Austria in the group stages of EURO 2024.
