Struggling Valencia Part Company With Manager Ruben Baraja
Valencia have parted company with manager Ruben Baraja following a poor start to the season.
Los Ché are hovering around the relegation zone after posting just two wins from their 17 La Liga games this season.
A 2-2 home draw with Deportivo Alaves on Sunday lifted Valencia off the foot of the table to 19th position but club legend Baraja has paid the price for poor form.
He was appointed manager in February 2023, with Valencia fighting relegation and kept them up before finishing last season in ninth position.
"Valencia CF have decided to bring to an end Ruben Baraja's time as first team coach. The club would like to publicly thank Baraja for the passion, dedication and commitment that he has shown from the first to the last day of his tenure in charge," reads a statement from the club.
"The dynamic of results during this season has required a decision that has been very difficult to make, but which has been taken with the aim of turning the situation around and achieving better results."
Former Spain international Baraja played for 10 years for Valencia, winning two La Liga titles, Copa Del Rey, UEFA Cup and UEFA Super Cup.
