No Festive Cheer For Saka As Hamstring Injury Rules Him Out For Significant Period

Saka lasted just 24 minutes as Mikel Arteta's side trounced Crystal Palace 5-1 at Selhurst Park.

The 23-year-old has impressed for Arsenal this season, scoring nine goals and providing 13 assists in 24 appearances across all competitions.

His absence will be a significant blow to Arsenal's title chances, with the Gunners already six points behind leaders Liverpool, having played a game more.

"It’s not looking good, he’s going to be out for many weeks," Arteta said when he gave an update in his press conference on Monday, ahead of their tie against Ipswich Town on Friday.

"I cannot be too specific because I do not know, but it’s going to be many weeks."

He continued to say: "It’s a huge [blow], he’s a massive player for us.

"You have to see the impact he has on this team, but it will be a good exercise for all of us to overcome another challenge, because we’ve had a lot in the season."

Saka's period of absence could see him miss games against Manchester United, Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspurs.
