Enzo Fernandez Glad To Have Found Form Under Maresca
Enzo Fernandez says he is glad to be finally finding his feet at Chelsea under Enzo Maresca.
Fernandez made a reported £106m move from Benfica to Chelsea in January 2023 right after the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
He initially struggled to justify his hefty price tag, with constant change of managers and injuries playing a part, but has started to shine under Maresca this term.
Since the November international break, Fernandez has scored three goals and provided three assists in six Premier League games to help Chelsea climb to second on the table.
"I learned the position in which I had to play, over time I got the idea of what the coach wanted," Fernandez told ESPN in an interview published on Monday.
"He (Maresca) explained to me what he wanted and I was getting the concept, reading the games. There is still a long way to go.
"On a personal level I have been feeling very good. The team has shown a very strong character, always working and with humility and showing that great things can be achieved. There is still a long way to go."
After drawing 0-0 at Everton in their last game, Chelsea will be looking to get back to winning ways when they host Fulham on Thursday.
