Guardiola In Serious Self-Doubt After Manchester Derby Defeat
Pep Guardiola has been left questioning his managerial credentials after Manchester City lost 2-1 to Manchester United on Sunday.
United stunned their 'noisy neighbours' at the Etihad Stadium despite trailing by a lone Josko Gvardiol goal with two minutes left in regulation time.
But Bruno Fernandes equalised from the penalty spot and Amad Diallo struck a winner from the tightest of angles to give the visitors all three points.
Manchester City have now lost eight of their last eleven games across all competitions, dropping to fifth on the Premier League table and in danger of missing out on a place in the Champions League knockout rounds.
Never before has Guardiola suffered as many defeats in a short space of time in his managerial career.
"I'm the boss, I'm the manager, I have to find solutions but I don't find solutions," Guardiola said in his post-match press conference.
"This is a big club and when you lose eight [out of 11 games] something is wrong. You can say the schedule is tough or the injuries to players, but no.
"I'm the manager and I'm not good enough, simple as that. I have to find a way to talk to them, to train them in the way we need to play, to press the way we need to press.
"I'm not good enough. I'm not doing well. That is the truth."
