Brazil Wins Bid To Host 2027 Women's World Cup
Brazil have been chosen as hosts for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup.
It will be the first time a South American country will be hosting the tournament.
Brazil recorded 119 votes as against 78 votes from a joint bid by Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.
South Africa were also in the running to host but withdrew their candidacy in November while United States and Mexico pulled out with their joint bid in April.
“It is a victory for the world and for women’s football," said Ednaldo Rodrigues, president of the Confederation of Brazilian Football (CBF).
FIFA president Gianni Infantino said: "Congratulations to Brazil.
"We will have the best World Cup in Brazil. Many thanks as well to the BNG bid, who have been fantastic."
Australia and New Zealand hosted the last edition of the FIFA Women's World Cup in 2023.
Spain are the defending champions of the tournament, having beaten England in the final.
