Ruben Neves Rules Out January Loan Switch To Newcastle Utd
Al Hilal midfielder Ruben Neves has ruled out the possibility of joining Newcastle United on loan in the January transfer window.
Neves has been strongly linked with Eddie Howe's side in recent weeks as a temporary replacement for Sandro Tonali, who has been banned for the rest of the season for breaching betting rules.
Neves left England this summer, fetching Wolverhampton Wanderers £47m when he transfered to the Saudi Pro League club.
Al Hilal and Newcastle United are all owned by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund.
On Friday, Neves helped Al Hilal defeat Al Nassr 3-0 to cement their position at the top of the Saudi League and revealed afterwards that he has no intention of making a swift return to the English Premier League.
The 26-year-old Portugal international told BBC Sport: "I don't go. I think that's rumours because of the owner of the clubs of course, and because I've played in England as well.
"There was Newcastle interest before I came here but I'm really happy here, my family's really happy, so I'm having a great time."
"Everything is going really well for me and I want to stay here."
Neves has made 25 appearances for Al Hilal so far, scoring three goals and laying on six assists.
