Today In History: Ronaldinho Retires From Football
On this day in 2018, one of football's greatest showmen, Ronaldinho, announced his retirement from football.
Ronaldinho called it quits at the age of 37 after three years without a club.
Famed for his breathtaking skills and playing with a signature smile on his face, Ronaldinho captivated the global football audience with his love for the game.
The pinnacle of his football career came during a mesmerising five-year spell with Barcelona between 2003 and 2008, during which he won two Spanish La Liga titles and the UEFA Champions League.
While at the Camp Nou, Ronaldinho won the World Footballer of the year award twice and the 2005 Ballon D'or.
He also won the 2002 FIFA World Cup with Brazil and represented clubs including Paris Saint Germain, AC Milan, Gremio, Flamengo, Atletico Mineiro and Fluminense.
