Tata Martino Resigns As Inter Miami Manager
Gerardo 'Tata' Martino has resigned from his position as manager of Major League Soccer side Inter Miami for personal reasons.
The former Barcelona and Argentina manager leaves behind a side that boasts the likes of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba in their ranks.
Martino was appointed Inter Miami manager in June 2023 and led them to the first trophies in their history; the 2023 Leagues Cup and the 2024 Supporters' Shield.
Inter Miami set an MLS record of 74 regular season points last term but were then knocked out of the post-season playoffs by Atlanta United in the first round.
"It has been an honour to work at such a special Club, and to lead such a special team," Martino said in a statement.
"I depart with nothing but gratitude for my time here and would like to offer sincere thanks to everyone that made it possible."
Another former Argentina and Barcelona player, Javier Mascherano has been touted as a possible replacement for Martino.
