Mourinho Sacked By AS Roma
Jose Mourinho has been sacked as manager of AS Roma.
Mourinho has been in charge of Roma for two-and-a-half-years but now departs with his contract still having six months to run.
The former Chelsea and Manchester United manager guided Roma to the inaugural UEFA Conference League trophy in 2022 and to the final of the Europa League last year when they lost to Sevilla.
Results have been inconsistent this term, with Roma dropping to ninth on the Serie A table after a 3-1 defeat to AC Milan last weekend.
They were also knocked out of the Coppa Italia by city rivals Lazio last week.
"We would like to thank Jose on behalf of all of us at AS Roma for his passion and efforts since his arrival at the club," a club statement read.
"We will always have great memories of his tenure at Roma, but we believe that an immediate change is in the best interests of the club.
"We wish Jose and his assistants all the best in their future endeavours."
