Spurs Lose Romero For Up To Five Weeks Due To Hamstring Injury
Tottenham Hotspurs manager Ange Postecoglou says defender Cristian Romero will miss up to five weeks with a hamstring issue.
Romero picked up the problem in the 2-1 win over Everton in the Premier League last weekend.
The 25-year-old Argentina defender has played 15 times in the top flight and scored three goals for fourth-placed Spurs this season.
Romero missed three games for Spurs between the middle of November and early December after picking up a red card in the 4-1 defeat to Chelsea.
Speaking ahead of Thursday’s trip to Brighton, Postecoglou said: “Not so great with Romero.
“He had a scan the other day and has got a hamstring strain. We are looking at probably four or five weeks for him.
“Disappointing to lose him, for sure. We obviously missed him with the suspension and now we’ve just got him back and he steadied things up.
“Now he will be missing again for quite a chunk of time.”
Romero won the FIFA World Cup with Argentina in Qatar last year.
