Lingard Closing In On Move To South Korea's FC Seoul
Jesse Lingard is closing in on a move to South Korea side FC Seoul.
Lingard has been without a club since leaving Nottingham Forest at the end of last season.
The 31-year-old has seen moves to Saudi Arabia and the Major League Soccer mooted in recent months but he remains without a club.
Lingard is due to arrive in South Korea on Monday for a medical and will sign an initial two-year contract if all goes to plan.
"I heard about it two to three weeks ago and I thought it was unrealistic," said Seoul FC head coach Kim Gi-dong.
"I asked our director of football about it and he replied to me yes it's true we are in contact with the player but the deal is not confirmed yet.
"If he comes, of course, it would be great for K-league as more foreign fans would be interested in our league.
"And if he comes as he was not playing for a while, we need to give him time to adapt rather than expect an instant impact."
Lingard came through the youth ranks of Manchester United and made 232 appearances at Old Trafford.
He has 32 caps for the England national team.
