Southgate Calls On England To Be Tactically Perfect In EURO 2024 Final
England have to be tactically perfect to stand any chance of beating Spain in the EURO 2024 final, according to Three Lions manager Gareth Southgate.
England and Spain meet in the final on Sunday in Berlin.
Southgate has taken England to a second straight European Championship final, having lost to Italy on penalties last time out.
Three-time winners Spain are favourites for Sunday's encounter, having recorded six straight wins in this summer's tournament.
England have not always been at their best in Germany, but they have shown incredible mental strength to come from behind in their round of 16, quarterfinal and semi-final games.
"They would be rightly favourites for what they have done this tournament. They have been the best team," said Southgate.
“They have got a day longer and in the past three finals, maybe more, it has been quite significant, so we have got to get our recovery spot on.
“Tactically we will have to be perfect as they are such a good side. But, you know, we are here."
England are hoping to be crowned European champions for the first time on Sunday.
