Roma Give De Rossi Three-Year Contract To Continue As Roma Manager
AS Roma have given Daniel De Rossi a three-year contract to continue in his role as manager.
De Rossi replaced Jose Mourinho in the Roma dugout on an interim basis in January and took them from ninth to sixth on the Serie A table.
Roma also reached the Europa League semi-finals under De Rossi.
The 40-year-old led Roma for 26 matches last term, winning 14, drawing six and losing six.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Roma said: "Before the second leg of the Europa League quarter-finals, the owners – the Friedkin Group – had announced in a note their desire to continue with De Rossi.
"The club's intentions then turned into a three-year contract, which the coach signed with enthusiasm, continuing the natural symbiosis with this team, his team. Rome."
De Rossi spent 18 years of his playing career with Roma, going on to make 616 appearances, scoring 63 goals and winning two Copa Italia trophies for the side.
Only Francesco Totti, who made 786 appearances for Roma, has played more times for the Serie A club than De Rossi.
