Nuri Sahin Demands Consistency From Dortmund Ahead Of New Year
Nuri Sahin is seeking nothing but consistency from Borussia Dortmund next year after they closed out 2024 with a much-needed 3-1 win at Wolfsburg on Sunday.
It was Dortmund's first away win of the season, lifting them up to sixth in the standings.
Dortmund led 3-0 at halftime at the Volkswagen Arena but were forced to hold on for their win after Pascal Gross was sent off in the 62nd minute, moments after Wolfsburg had pulled one back.
It has been an inconsistent start to Sahin's reign as Dortmund manager, with Sunday's win coming off the back of three straight draws.
"There were a lot of ups and downs. It was hesitant and that's exactly what I keep telling the guys," Sahin told streaming platform DAZN, comparing the Wolfsburg game to the season.
"We have to learn to be consistent. The table looks better, but it would look a lot better if we'd pulled it off against Hoffenheim," the former midfielder added, referring to last week's 1-1 draw.
Dortmund's next game will be against champions Bayer Leverkusen on January 10, 2025.
