Tuchel Concedes Bundesliga Title To Leverkusen

Leverkusen stretched their lead at the top of the table to 13 points following a late 2-1 win over Hoffenheim on Saturday.

Bayern Munich lost 2-0 at home to Borussia Dortmund, effectively killing off their hopes of a faint revival in the title race.

Leverkusen need just three wins from their final seven games to win their first ever Bundesliga title.

Bayer Munich have emerged victorious in each of the last 11 Bundesliga seasons but their poor domestic form this term will see Tuchel depart the Allianz Arena at the end of the campaign.

After the match, Tuchel was asked if the title race was over, he said: "Obviously, yes.

"After today's game there is no more need to count points. How many is it now? Congratulations to Leverkusen.

"We are very disappointed because we felt we did not bring the necessary passion to win the game. It was too little from us when it came to the basics."

With Bayern Munich still in the Champions League, Tuchel will hope to leave on a high by winning Europe's Premier club competition.
