Six-Man Shortlist Released For Premier League Player Of The Month For April

Not for the first time this season, Chelsea forward Cole Palmer has been nominated alongside Bruno Fernandes, Jean-Philippe Mateta, Kai Havertz, Jordan Pickford and Josko Gvardiol.

Palmer had eight goal involvements in four matches in April, including finding the back of the net seven times, with back-to-back hattricks recorded in home victories over Manchester United and Everton.

Goalkeeper Pickford helped Everton stave off the threat of relegation with four clean sheets and 23 saves last month.

In six matches last month, Mateta scored five times for Crystal Palace to take his tally for the season to 11.

Havertz was instrumental in Arsenal's five wins in April, scoring four goals and registering three assists.

Manchester United captain Fernandes recorded six goals in April and added one assist.

Gvardiol helped champions Manchester City to two clean sheets in five games and scored his first two goals in the top flight. He also provided one assist.

Elsewhere, Pep Guardiola, Mikel Arteta and Sean Dyche will battle it out for manager of the month.
