Toni Kroos Announces Return To International Football Ahead Of EURO 2024
Toni Kroos has announced his return to international football ahead of this summer's European Championships.
Kroos called time on his international career after Germany's elimination from EURO 2020 by England in the round of 16 stage.
The 34-year-old Real Madrid midfielder has amassed 106 caps for Germany and was part of the country's 2014 FIFA World Cup winning squad.
Kroos has been persuaded by Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann to return to the international fold at EURO 2024.
A statement on Kroos' Instagram account read: "Guys, short and sweet: I'll be playing for Germany again starting in March."
"Why? Because I was asked by the national team coach, I'm ready for it, and I'm sure that the team is capable of much more at the European Championship than most people currently believe."
Germany are in the same group with Scotland, Hungary and Switzerland at EURO 2024.
