Man City Goalkeeper Ederson Ruled Out For One Month With Injury

Ederson injured himself after colliding with Darwin Nunez early in the second half which resulted in the penalty which the hosts converted to bring the game level.

The 30-year-old was substituted shortly after for Stefan Ortega and is set to miss upcoming games for club and country.

Manchester City face Newcastle United in the FA Cup quarterfinal this weekend and the champions also have a huge Premier League encounter against Arsenal at the end of the month.

Ederson will also miss Brazil's upcoming friendly games against England and Spain.

Ortega is set for an extended spell in the Manchester City goalposts and the German says he is ready to deputise in Ederson's absence.

Speaking to mancity.com, Ortega said: "If you are on the bench, you always think about what can happen if you go on the pitch.

"[Against Liverpool] was my time with Eddie's injury. I was ready like always. It was a special moment to come on in this big game and the whole world watching. It was a nice feeling."

"I just do my job," Ortega added. "I do it every day in training and it was about doing the same. I enjoyed every second. It's nothing new what came - I was ready and prepared."
