Luis Enrique Cannot Guarantee Mbappe Involvement In Champions League Tie Against Real Sociedad
Luis Enrique could not guarantee whether Kylian Mbappe will play a part in Paris Saint Germain's Champions League round of 16 second leg at Real Sociedad on Tuesday.
The French champions will take a 2-0 first leg advantage to Spain looking to book a place in the quarterfinals.
Enrique has used Mbappe sparingly ever since the France captain made his intentions clear that he will be leaving the club at the end of this season.
Since the first leg a fortnight ago, Mbappe has not completed the full 90 minutes in any of PSG's three league games, including getting substituted at half time in a goalless draw at AS Monaco on Friday.
Enrique insists he wants PSG to get used to playing without Mbappe.
Asked what he expected from Mbappe in their second leg at Real Sociedad on Tuesday night, Enrique told a press conference: “I expect my team to be up to the level of the game and to approach it in the way we have throughout the season.
“I can see that the team is full of confidence and we have a clear target, which is to try to win the game.
“We want to beat Real Sociedad away from home, but it will certainly be very tough.”
Mbappe is widely expected to join Real Madrid this summer.
The 25-year-old has played 33 times across all competitions for PSG this season, scoring 32 goals.
