Italy's Zaniolo Ruled Out Of EURO 2024 With Injury
Italy will once again be without Nicolo Zaniolo for the upcoming European Championships due to injury.
The Aston Villa forward suffered a foot injury in the 3-3 draw with Liverpool on Monday.
Zaniolo missed Italy's successful EURO 2020 campaign as he was recovering from an ACL injury at the time.
The 24-year-old joined Aston Villa on a one-year loan deal from Galatasaray last August and has made 39 appearances for Unai Emery's side, scoring three goals.
In a post to his Instagram account, Zaniolo wrote: "Thank you for your support in these hours, to you Villans and to the many Italian and Turkish fans. I can't wait to get back on the field stronger than before!
"Unfortunately, I will have to give up my dream of representing my country in a major competition. But that day will come, I'm sure, and it will be beautiful! Come on Azzurri!"
Italy are in the same group with Spain, Croatia and Albania at EURO 2024.
Zaniolo has 19 caps and two goals for Italy.
