The Bayern Munich striker is also a major doubt for Tuesday's game against Belgium.

Kane suffered an ankle injury playing against Darmstadt just before the commencement of the international break.

England have already lost Bukayo Saka for their upcoming games and manager Gareth Southgate has also confirmed Jordan Henderson and Cole Palmer will sit out the meeting with the five-time world champions.

"Tomorrow no Harry Kane, no Jordan Henderson, no Cole Palmer," England boss Southgate said.

"I would say Cole and Hendo have a better chance of Belgium than Harry. He'd be extremely doubtful for that."

Kane's absence will open up space for Southgate to try Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins or Brentford forward Ivan Toney in attack.

Kane is England's record goalscorer with 62 goals in 89 games.

The former Tottenham Hotspurs frontman has scored 37 goals in 35 games since joining Bayern Munich last summer.
