Haaland And Alexander-Arnold Clash In War Of Words Ahead Of Liverpool-Man City Game
Erling Haaland has responded to Trent-Alexander Arnold's apparent belittling of Manchester City's achievements under Pep Guardiola.
Liverpool and Manchester City meet in a top-of-the-table Premier League encounter at Anfield on Sunday.
Liverpool have won seven major honours in Jurgen Klopp's time at the club while Guardiola has 14 major trophies with Manchester City, including a memorable treble of Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League last season.
But Manchester City are currently battling financial fair play rule breaches between 2009 and 2018, which Alexander-Arnold has alluded to.
In a recent interview with FourFourTwo, Alexander-Arnold said: "Looking back on this era, although they've won more titles than us and have probably been more successful, our trophies will mean more to us and our fanbase because of the situations at both clubs financially."
Responding to Alexander-Arnold's comments on Sky Sports, Haaland said: "I've been here one year and I won the Treble and it was quite a nice feeling."
"I don't think he knows exactly this feeling. So, that's what I felt last season. It was quite nice.
"If he wants to say that, OK," added Haaland. "They can talk as much as they want, or he can talk as much as he wants. I don't know why he does that but I don't mind."
Alexander- Arnold will miss the game through injury.
