Foden Crowned FWA Player Of The Year
Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden has been voted Football Writers' Association player of the year for the 2023/2024 season.
Foden is enjoying his best season in a Manchester City jersey, having notched 24 goals and 10 assists in 48 appearances across all competitions.
The 23-year-old finished ahead of Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice and Manchester City teammate Rodri in the voting standings.
"Being named the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year is a huge honour," Foden said in a statement.
"I'm very, very happy to receive this award but I could not have done it without the help of my teammates.
"We have a very special squad of players at City, and I'm privileged to be a part of that group. I want to thank all my teammates as well as Pep and the coaches for all the support and advice they have given me.
"I strive to be the best that I can be every single day and that is all down to the way the manager and my colleagues always seek to improve and get better."
Foden is the third Manchester City player to win the FWA player of the year award in the last four seasons, with Ruben Dias winning in 2021 and Erling Haaland in 2023.
