Clauss Joins Nice On Two-Year Deal After Leaving Marseille
Olympique Marseille have sanctioned the sale of right back Jonathan Clauss to OGC Nice for an unisclosed fee.
The 31-year-old has signed a two-year contract with Nice, ending a two-year stay at Marseille.
Clauss, who has won 13 caps for the France national team, was part of their EURO 2024 squad but did not play a single minute.
The move will see Clauss re-unite with his former boss at Lens, Franck Haise.
Clauss has been one of the most productive right backs in Ligue 1 in recent seasons, laying on 30 assists and scoring 13 goals in the last four campaigns.
"It's true that the possibility of working with the coach made a difference in my choice," Clauss said in a Nice statement.
"I'm at an important moment in my career.
"I need to play often, and to continue playing in European competition... I'm ambitious, like Nice," he added.
Nice finished fifth in Ligue 1 last season.
