Chicharito Signs For Boyhood Club Chivas Guadalajara

Chicharito was a free agent after leaving Major League Soccer side Los Angeles Galaxy last year.

The 35-year-old starred for Chivas for four years before his performances at the 2010 FIFA World Cup earned him a move to Manchester United.

After two league titles with the Red Devils, Chicharito went on to play for Real Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, West Ham United and Sevilla.

The official statement from the Mexican club on signing the veteran forward read: "Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez returns to the team of his love till the end of 2024.

"We are convinced that his love for the Institution, the experience acquired during his successful career and the leadership that characterizes him will be reflected in this new stage with Chivas."

Reacting to the news on social media, Chicharito said: "My home, my family, my team, my everything."

"See you soon!"

Chicharito is the all-time leading goalscorer for the Mexico national team, with 52 goals from 109 appearances.

Chicharito is currently recovering from an ACL injury sustained in June last year.
