Breaking: Pochettino Leaves Chelsea By Mutual Consent
Chelsea and Mauricio Pochettino have agreed to part company after just one season together.
Pochettino signed a two-year contract at Stamford Bridge when he took over as manager last summer.
Despite a challenging start to the season, Pochettino eventually led Chelsea to a sixth place finish in the league, a massive improvement on their 12th place finish last term.
Chelsea also reached the final of the Carabao Cup this season, losing to Liverpool and suffered defeat at the hands of Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-finals.
In a club statement, Pochettino said: "Thank you to the Chelsea ownership group and Sporting Directors for the opportunity to be part of this football club's history.
"The club is now well positioned to keep moving forward in the Premier League and Europe in the years to come."
Sporting Directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley said: "On behalf of everyone at Chelsea, we would like to express our gratitude to Mauricio for his service this season.
"He will be welcome back to Stamford Bridge any time, and we wish him all the very best in his future coaching career."
