Messi Wins FIFA Men's Best Player For 2023

The Inter Miami forward edged Manchester City's Erling Haaland and Paris Saint Germain striker Kylian Mbappe to the award.

It is the third time Messi has won the award, with his previous wins coming in 2019 and 2022.

The 2023 award only took into account performances from December 19, 2022 to August 20, 2023.

Messi helped Paris Saint Germain win the Ligue 1 title for the 2022/2023 season before transferring to Inter Miami last summer.

The 36-year-old was instrumental in Miami winning their first ever trophy as he scored 10 goals in seven games en route to Leagues Cup glory.

Elsewhere, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola won Coach of the year after winning the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup last season.
