Vinicius Junior Wins Men's Best Player At 2024 FIFA Awards
Vinicius Junior has been named as the best Men's player at the 2024 FIFA Awards ceremony.
The 24-year-old Brazil international scored 24 goals and provided 11 assists last season as Real Madrid won La Liga and the UEFA Champions League for a record-extending 15th time.
Vinicius won the award ahead of Manchester City midfielder Rodri and Real Madrid teammate Jude Bellingham, who finished second and third respectively.
Back in October, Vinicius and the Real Madrid entourage boycotted the 2024 Ballon D'or ceremony in Paris after learning ahead of time that Rodri would be crowned winner of football's most prestigious individual honour.
In Doha, Qatar on Tuesday, however, the former Flamengo winger was present to pick up his award.
"It seemed impossible when I played barefoot in the streets of Sao Goncalo and now I'm here," Vinicius said as he received the award.
Real Madrid are already in Qatar to take on Mexican side Pachuca in the final of the FIFA Intercontinental Cup on Wednesday.
