Today In History: Man Utd Sign Patrice Evra From AS Monaco
Manchester United signed Patrice Evra from AS Monaco on this day in 2006.
The Frenchman would go on to establish himself as one of the best left backs in Premier League history.
In eight-and-a-half seasons at Old Trafford, Evra won five Premier League titles under Sir Alex Ferguson and also added the 2008 UEFA Champions League to his impressive trophy haul at the club.
The former France international, who won 81 caps for his country, left Old Trafford for Juventus in the summer of 2014, winning two Serie A titles before leaving for Olympique Marseille and finishing his career at West Ham United in 2018.
Evra played in five Champions League finals during his career; three times with Manchester United and one apiece for AS Monaco in 2004 and Juventus in 2015.
