Ronaldo's Al Nassr Sack Manager Luis Castro
Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr have sacked manager Luis Castro following an underwhelming start to the season.
Al Nassr have won just once in their opening three Saudi Pro League matches this season and drew their opening Asia Champions League game against Iraq's Al Shorta on Monday.
Castro was appointed Al Nassr manager in July last year and led the club to a second place finish on the league table, albeit 12 points behind winners Al Hilal.
Al Nassr however won the Arab Club Championship Cup.
"Al Nassr can announce that head coach Luis Castro has left the club," said a statement posted on X.
"Everyone at Al Nassr would like to thank Luis and his staff for their dedicated work during the past 14 months, wishing them the best of luck for the future."
Former AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli has been tipped as the early favourite to succeed Castro.
