Pedri To Miss Rest Of EURO 2024 With Knee Injury
Pedri will play no further part in Spain's quest for EURO 2024 glory after he was ruled out of the rest of the tournament through injury.
Pedri was substituted early in Spain's quarterfinal 2-1 win over Germany on Friday following a heavy challenge from Toni Kroos.
The 21-year-old suffered a bad knee injury as a result and will miss Spain's semi-final clash with France on Tuesday as well as a potential final against either England or Netherlands if La Roja sail through.
A Spain statement posted on X read: "The medical tests carried out have determined that Pedri González suffers a grade 2 internal lateral sprain in his left knee.
"The Canarian player will remain in Germany until the end of Euro 2024."
In an emotional response on Instagram, Kroos, who retired from football after the game added: "Get better soon Pedri. Obviously, it was not my intention to cause any damage."
"Wishing you a speedy recovery and all the best. You are a great player."
