Osimhen Passed Fit For AFCON Semi-Final After Overcoming Abdominal Discomfort
Victor Osimhen has been passed fit to feature in Nigeria's Africa Cup of Nations semi-final game against South Africa on Wednesday.
Osimhen had been a doubt after getting substituted late in Nigeria's quarterfinal victory over Angola on Friday with abdominal discomfort.
The Nigeria team travelled from Abidjan to Bouake on Monday without Osimhen, sparking fears that the Napoli frontman could miss the game against South Africa.
A tweet from the Super Eagles’ X account read: “Victor Osimhen has been declared fit and available for selection in the semi-final clash against South Africa on Wednesday. He has joined the team in Bouake and has trained with the squad today.”
Osimhen has scored one goal and provided one assist so far at AFCON 2023 in five appearances as Nigeria bid to win the tournament for the fourth time in their history.
