Neymar Joins Calls For Vinicius Jnr To Be Awarded Ballon D'or
Neymar has added his voice to the chorus calling for Vinicius Junior to be handed this year's Ballon D'or.
Vinicius helped Real Madrid win their 15th Champions League title over the weekend, scoring the insurance goal in a 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund at Wembley.
The 23-year-old Brazilian has since been named Champions League player of the season.
Vinicius finished the season with 24 goals and 10 assists in 39 games across all competitions.
No Brazilian has won the Ballon D'or since Kaka in 2007.
"As for Vini, obviously I think the Ballon d'Or is his today," Neymar said.
"I sent [him] messages before and after the [Champions League final] game. He's a boy I love with passion, a great friend that football gave me. He will certainly be crowned with the Ballon d'Or.
"He's incredible. Carrying our country's flag around the world, and we're really rooting for him."
Vinicius will be looking to adding the Copa America trophy to his list of laurels this summer.
