'It's Difficult For Me'- Bellingham Admits Struggles With Spanish Language
Jude Bellingham might be breaking records on the pitch for Real Madrid but the Englishman is still struggling to breach the language barrier in a new country.
Bellingham has taken to La Liga like a duck to water, with 15 goals struck across 17 appearances in all competitions so far since signing from Borussia Dortmund in the summer.
The 20-year-old is exceeding expectations on the field but he says he is still lagging behind when it comes to communicating with his teammates.
Bellingham is set to pick up the Golden boy award for being the best u-21 player in world football later on Monday in Turin.
Ahead of the ceremony, the former Birmingham City youngster opened up on life in the Spanish capital.
Bellingham told Tuttosport of how his manager Carlo Ancelotti is bringing the best out of him, while demanding even more on and off the pitch: “I’ve had a ferocious commitment to improving myself with hard work, but the credit goes to coach Ancelotti who has found the right position for me, giving me more freedom, so I’m flying now. However, I know I am disappointing him in one aspect.”
Asked to reveal what that aspect is, Bellingham added: “I still don’t speak Spanish. I am sorry but I am finding obstacles I didn’t expect with this language. I admit it’s difficult for me, but I promise maximum commitment.”
