Leicester Reward Evergreen Striker Vardy With New Deal Until 2025
Evergreen Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has signed a new contract at the club until the summer of 2025.
The 37-year-old has recently helped the Foxes regain their top flight status after a season in the second tier, scoring 18 goals in 35 Championship games.
Vardy joined Leicester from Fleetwood Town in the summer of 2012 and has so far scored 190 goals from 464 appearances.
He scored 24 goals as the Foxes won the Premier League title under Claudio Ranieri in the 2015/2016 season.
Vardy also counts the FA Cup and Community Shield among his list of honours with Leicester.
Speaking to LCFC.com, he said: “To get the numbers that I did [last season], I’m delighted with it, but there’s still more to come. I look after myself. I’ve always said that age is just a number.
"My legs feel fine so that’s why I carry on until my legs say ‘that’s it, game over’. There will be a day when that comes, but that’s not right now.
“We look forward to another season in the Premier League and seeing what we can do. One hundred per cent, it’s the best league in the world. That’s where you want to be playing your football.”
Vardy scored seven goals in 26 international caps for England before excusing himself from national team call-ups in August 2018.
