Julian Alvarez Hints At Reviewing Man City Future After Olympic Games

Alvarez is attracting interest from the likes of Atletico Madrid and Chelsea, and has a contract running until the summer of 2028.

The 24-year-old featured 54 times across all competitions last season, scoring 19 goals and providing 13 assists but was left on the bench in some important matches, including the FA Cup final and both legs of the Champions League quarterfinals against Real Madrid.

Alvarez is currently with the Argentina Olympic squad in Paris.

‘I haven’t stopped to think about what I’m going to do,’ Alvarez told DIRECTV Sports when asked for an update on his future.

‘When this [Argentine’s men’s football campaign at the Olympics] is over I’ll start thinking about what I want for myself. We’ll see how things go.

‘Last season I was one of the players who played the most minutes in the team.

‘But it’s true: in the end, in important games, you don’t like being left out and you want to contribute.’

Alvarez joined Manchester City from River Plate in the summer of 2022 and has already won two Premier League titles, the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup and FA Cup with Pep Guardiola's side.
