Former Man Utd Defender Axel Tuanzebe Switches International Allegiance From England To DR Congo

Tuanzebe, who now plays for Ipswich Town in the Championship, was born in the African country but moved to England as a youngster.

Having come through Manchester United's academy, Tuanzebe featured for England at youth level but is yet to win a senior cap.

The 26-year-old has now decided to play for his country of birth.

Tuanzebe could make his debut for DRC against Senegal in June during the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Tuanzebe, who had loan spells at Aston Villa, Napoli and Stoke City while on the books of Manchester United, has made 14 appearances for promotion-chasing Ipswich Town this season.
