Former Cameroon, Chelsea and Real Madrid midfielder Geremi Njitap has filed for divorce from his wife after discovering he is not the biological father of their two children.

Geremi made the decision after finding out through a DNA test that their twin girls born in 2008 were fathered by another man.

Geremi and wife Laure, have been married since 2012.

It is alleged that the twin girls were fathered by Laure's ex-husband, whom he had an affair with while in a relationship with Geremi.

The court documents detail, per The Sun read: “No children have been born from this union [between Geremi and Laure]. But the discovery that the children were from her previous partner destroyed the couple’s harmony. It caused him a huge emotional shock.”

In a remarkable career, Geremi also played for Middlesbrough and Newcastle United, and won 118 caps for Cameroon, winning two Africa Cup of Nations titles and a gold medal at the 2000 Olympic games.

Geremi won two Premier League titles with Chelsea and the UEFA Champions League twice with Real Madrid.
