Aubameyang had a stellar campaign at the Stade Velodrome last season, scoring 28 goals in 49 appearances.

The 35-year-old will now continue his career at Al Qadsiah, who are making strides in the transfer market already, having secured the signings of former Real Madrid captain Nacho Fernandez and Belgium goalkeeper Koen Casteels.

Aubameyang has signed a two-year contract at his new side.

On Instagram, Aubameyang wrote an emotional message as he said: "THANK YOU MARSEILLE!

"It’s been an emotional year and I’d like to thank the whole club, the staff, my team-mates and our supporters.

"You’ve made me stronger and these memories with you will stay with me forever.

"As you know, I’ve always followed my father’s advice, which has helped me to become the player I am, so we’ve made this decision for the rest of my career. It’s time for me to start a new chapter."

The Gabon international has played for the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal, Barcelona and Chelsea in a prolific and nomadic career.
