Unai Emery Signs Another Aston Villa Extension Until 2029
Aston Villa have handed manager Unai Emery a new contract until the summer of 2029.
The 52-year-old Spaniard has just guided Aston Villa into the UEFA Champions League following a fourth place finish this season.
Emery took over Aston Villa in October 2022 when they were battling relegation under Steven Gerrard and guided them to a seventh place finish at the end of the season, taking them into the Europa Conference League where they exited at the semi-finals stage to Olympiacos.
The former Arsenal and Sevilla manager only signed a contract extension at Villa Park last month but has been rewarded with an improved two-year extension.
"I am very happy to take this step and the responsibility of leading this club," said Emery, whose existing deal still had another three years to run.
"There’s a great chemistry in Aston Villa. And the element of the fans’ support also makes the difference to feel like home.
"We are really excited to continue this journey with no limits to our dreams."
Chairman Nassef Sawiris said: "We are building something special here at Aston Villa with Unai at its core and we are delighted that he has signed a new deal with the club until 2029.
"As we move into our historic, 150th anniversary year, there is a lot to look forward to with Unai at the helm."
