The game has been dubbed the 'Last Dance' and will feature Al Nassr, Inter Miami and Al Hilal facing each other in a round robin format.

Ronaldo joined Al Nassr late last year after leaving Manchester United while Messi chose Major League Soccer side Inter Miami as his next destination when his two-year stay at Paris Saint Germain ended this summer.

A press release previewing the mini-tournament read: "H.E Turki Alalshikh welcomed the participation of Inter Miami CF, noting that the tournament will have a global following due to the prominent international football stars who play for the three clubs.

"He stressed that the league is an extension of the major international events that Riyadh Season presents to visitors and to the world.

"For his part, Mr. Jorge Mas welcomed the participation of Inter Miami CF in Riyadh Season, praising the great development witnessed in the field of football in Saudi Arabia, in addition to the great transformations witnessed in the entertainment sector in the Kingdom."

Over the course of their respective distinguished careers, Messi and Ronaldo have faced each other 36 times with the Argentine winning 16 of those and the Portuguese coming out on top on 11 occasions.

They have also won the highly-coveted Ballon D'or award 13 times between them, with Messi edging Ronaldo 8-5.
