Mata To Join Australia Side Western Sydney Wanderers On One-Year Deal
Juan Mata is heading to Australia to join Western Sydney Wanderers on a one-year contract.
The former Manchester United, Chelsea and Valencia midfielder has been a free agent since leaving Japanese side Vissel Kobe in January this year.
Mata comes with a wealth of experience, having won the FIFA World Cup and European Championship with Spain as well as the UEFA Champions League and Europa League with Chelsea.
The 36-year-old also won another Europa League, FA Cup and League Cup during eight years as a Manchester United player.
"I'm really excited to join the Western Sydney Wanderers, the only Australian team to ever win the Asian Champions League, and I cannot wait to arrive and train with the team to prepare for the season," said Mata.
"I'm feeling grateful and excited for this new adventure, and looking forward to trying to win another championship in a different league."
