Man Utd Grab Bayern Munich Pair De Ligt And Mazraoui On Busy Day At Old Trafford
A busy day at Manchester United has concluded with the signings of Bayern Munich defensive pair Matthijs De Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Red Devils sanctioned the sale of Aaron Wan-Bissaka to West Ham United.
A swift replacement has been secured for Wan-Bissaka in the shape of Mazraoui, who will compete with Diogo Dalot for the right back slot.
De Ligt is coming in at central defence after new recruit Leny Yoro was recently sidelined for three months.
De Ligt and Mazraoui both played under United manager Erik Ten Hag at Ajax Amsterdam.
De Ligt has signed a five-year contract at Old Trafford in a deal worth £42m while Mazraoui has joined for £17m on a four-year deal.
"Erik ten Hag shaped the early stages of my career, so he knows how to get the best out of me and I cannot wait to work with him again," said De Ligt.
"I know what it takes to succeed at the highest level, and I’m determined to continue that record at this special club."
Mazraoui added: "It is exciting to be reuniting with him [Ten Hag] as I enter the prime years of my career.
"I know what he expects from his players, and I will give everything to help the group be successful."
