Koopmeiners Hands In Transfer Request At Atalanta Amid Premier League Interest
Teun Koopmeiners has told Atalanta he wants to leave the club at the end of this season.
The Dutch international is of interest to several Premier League clubs as well as Juventus and Napoli.
Koopmeiners, who joined Atalanta from AZ Alkmaar in the summer of 2021, has scored 20 Serie A goals in the last two seasons.
The 26-year-old is currently on national team duty with the Netherlands ahead of international friendlies against Scotland and Germany.
“I told Atalanta I want to leave in the summer,” Koopmeiners said in an interview with telegraaf.nl.
“Last season, there was concrete interest from Napoli, but the two clubs didn’t reach an agreement. I hope there will be options to consider this year. My girlfriend and I are enjoying Italy, but I would endure rain for some clubs in England.
“I’d lie if I said I have no news of interest from Juventus and Premier League clubs. I read the news, too. I’ve had an amazing time at Atalanta and I hope they will get a big sum.”
Koopmeiners has 20 caps and two goals for Netherlands.
