Klopp's Assistant Named As New Manager Of RB Salzburg
Jurgen Klopp's right-hand man Pep Lijnders has been named as the new manager of Austria giants RB Salzburg.
Lijnders will be leaving Anfield alongside Klopp at the end of this season.
The 41-year-old has agreed a three-year contract with Salzburg.
Lijnders was in his second stint as part of Liverpool's coaching staff, having also worked under Brendan Rodgers.
“I am very proud to become the new head coach of FC Red Bull Salzburg,” said Lijnders said on Liverpool’s website.
“This is a real privilege for me. After PSV Eindhoven, Porto and Liverpool, I am now moving to another exceptional club with a really good structure and a particular focus on youth development.
“I want to develop a mentality with the team that places a lot of emphasis on attacking style of play and where passion and hunger for success are the basis of everything.”
