Juventus Terminate Pogba's Contract As Doping Ban Nears End
Paul Pogba has become a free agent after Juventus decided to terminate his contract.
Pogba had a contract with the Bianconeri until the summer of 2026 but has not played for the club in over a year due to his ban from football for violating doping rules.
The 31-year-old was banned for four years earlier this year but it was recently reduced to 18 months and he will be eligible to resume his playing career from March 2025.
The 2018 World Cup winner returned for a second stint at Juventus in the summer of 2022 after leaving Manchester United but his time at the club was decimated by injuries before his ban.
A statement from Juventus said: "Juventus Football Club and Paul Pogba announce that they have reached a mutual agreement for the termination of their contract as of 30 November, 2024.
"The club wishes Paul the very best for his professional future."
In a statement, Pogba said: "My time at Juventus has come to an end.
“It has been a privilege to pull on the shirt of the bianconeri and to share so many special moments together.
“I cherish the memories we made. They live on.
"Even in the most difficult moments over the past year, your support was crucial and I want to thank Juve fans around the world for their compassion.
“It has been a pleasure to have experienced so many great moments with my teammates over the years and I wish them every success in the future.
“I am looking forward to the next chapter of my career and to stepping out on the pitch with my next club.”
