Henderson Hopeful Of Getting A Spot In England's EURO 2024 Squad
Jordan Henderson is convinced he will earn a spot in the England squad for EURO 2024.
Henderson is back playing in Europe for Ajax Amsterdam after spending six months in Saudi Arabia with Al Ettifaq.
The 33-year-old joined Ajax Amsterdam in January and has played five times for his new side so far.
Much has been made of Henderson's continuous involvement in recent England squads despite playing in an inferior Saudi Pro League.
England manager Gareth Southgate was in attendance when Henderson made his debut for Ajax against PSV Eindhoven last month.
The former Liverpool captain believes he still has much more to offer his country.
"It was nice to see that he (Southgate) is keeping an eye on me," Henderson told reporters on Wednesday ahead of Ajax's Europa Conference League last-16 match against Aston Villa.
"I've got to focus on my job here and if I'm doing that well and performing well then that gives me the best possible opportunity to get in the England squad.
"I definitely feel I can offer something to the national team. Of course I feel I can help the squad and the team going forward in the next camp and hopefully in the summer."
England have upcoming friendly matches against Brazil and Belgium later this month before their EURO 2024 campaign gets underway in the summer.
