Guardiola Shuts Down De Bruyne Exit Rumours
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola insists that Kevin De Bruyne will not leave the club this summer.
De Bruyne has entered the final year of his contract at the Etihad Stadium and has been strongly linked with a move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad.
Back in June De Bruyne admitted that at his age it would be difficult to turn down a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia.
But Guardiola is confident the 33-year-old will play a big part in the upcoming season.
"Kevin isn't leaving," Guardiola told reporters at their pre-season training camp.
"If someone leaves, we are going to talk about that and, of course, until the last day [of the transfer window] we have chances.
"I don't rule out new players as an option, but I think there is an 85, 90, 95% chance we will have the same squad."
The former Chelsea midfielder has won it all since joining Manchester City in the summer of 2015, including six Premier League titles and one UEFA Champions League trophy.
He has scored 102 goals and assisted 170 times in 382 appearances for Manchester City.
