Griezmann Makes Timely Return To Atletico Madrid Squad Ahead Of Inter Milan Clash
Antoine Griezmann has made a timely return to the Atletico Madrid squad ahead of their Champions League encounter against Inter Milan on Wednesday.
Griezmann has missed Atletico's last four games since suffering an ankle injury in the first leg last month.
Atletico trail last season's runners up by one goal but will be boosted by Griezmann's return to full fitness.
The 32-year-old Frenchman has scored 18 goals in 36 appearances across all competitions this season, including five in seven Champions League games.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone said of Griezmann: "His return to the team gives us more solutions and more possibilities, both tactically and as far as the game is concerned."
"Let's hope he has the game he wants to play."
Atletico won just one of the four games Griezmann has missed recently and suffered a 2-0 loss to relegation threatened Cadiz over the weekend.
Nonetheless, Simeone expects the disgruntled Atletico fans to show their support against the runaway Serie A leaders.
"We'll accept what they want to give us – they always give everything and support us, I am sure our fans will be like they always are," added Simeone.
